Prior to starting Support Air International S.L. in 1995, I was running a skydiving center in northeastern Spain, on the Costa Brava. Skydive Empuriabrava opened its doors to the world on 5 October 1985. I took great pleasure yesterday to take a look back at day one, when the operations started in earnest at the private airfield with the IATA location identifier LEAP.
Even if things tend to look very differently 2.5 million skydives and 190,000 Tandems later, the spirit has hardly changed at all.
I sent this congratulatory message to the current owners/operators of SKYDIVE EMPURIABRAVA (SDE) on the occasion of the 35th anniversary.
